First Edition of the first volume of Laurie Lee's graceful autobiographical trilogy. The first issue, describing the fire at the piano factory on pp. 272, later suppressed. A near fine copy in green cloth, gilt titles to the spine with some aging as expected. Dust jacket price intact on front flap, 18s net., in a very good pictorial dustwrapper designed by John Ward jacket shows sun-fading. There is noticeable wear along the top edge of the jacket, including small tears and paper loss (chipping) at the top of the spine and corners.
Protected in mylar.
