After some time in his young adulthood as a screen writer and newspaperman, mainly reviewing books, and hobnobbing with the likes of Evelyn Waugh, Anthony Powell (1905-2000) joined the military during the Second World War and subsequently started work on his Magnum Opus, A Dance to the Music of Time, a twelve volume novel depicting the interaction between British high society and its bohemian class between the 1920’s and the 1970’s.
Volume eleven, the next to last instalment, depicts narrator Jenkins and his colleagues at the zenith of their careers and shifts between London and Venice in terms of locale.
This copy and mylar protected dust jacket are in very good condition.
