After some time in his young adulthood as a screen writer and newspaperman, mainly reviewing books, and hobnobbing with the likes of Evelyn Waugh, Anthony Powell (1905-2000) joined the military during the Second World War and subsequently started work on his Magnum Opus, A Dance to the Music of Time, a twelve volume novel depicting the interaction between British high society and its bohemian class between the 1920’s and the 1970’s.
In the seventh volume it is 1940 and Nick Jenkins has joined the British Army to fight in the Second World War.
This copy shows some light wear on the cloth with some slight wrinkling on the back bottom left, the mylar protected dust jacket rated very good overall. A lovely addition to this twelve volume series.
