First limited edition, Privately printed Christmas keepsake, one of 200 copies produced “for his friends” at the press of William Edwin Rudge. A first and only separate edition, with no known reprints, issued as an elegant offprint from Hearst's Magazine (Spadoni A27).
Small octavo (8vo). Printed on Fabriano handmade text paper with deckled edges. Bound in Kinkani blue paper-covered boards, quarter-bound with a beige paper spine. Upper cover lettered MERRY CHRISTMAS in blue within a square blind-embossed panel with animal motifs. Matching endpapers.
Condition: some spotting and fading to hand-made covers, light edgewear; internally clean, tight, and well preserved.. A lovely presentation.
