Item #34198 THE HEART OF THE MASTER. Aleister Crowley, Khaled Khan.

THE HEART OF THE MASTER.

Montreal, Quebec: O.T.O.[Ordo Templi Orientis], 1973.

1st Edition. First Edition. Hardcover. Octavo. Original white buckram boards stamped in gilt and red. Binding tight; boards show some yellowing, otherwise clean and well-preserved. Interior bright and unmarked.

Written in 1924 but unpublished during his lifetime, The Heart of the Master was issued posthumously in 1973 by the Ordo Templi Orientis in a limited edition (reportedly 500 copies). The text records a visionary experience in which Crowley set forth his mystical philosophy of the new Aeon of Horus. Both allegorical and prophetic, it stands as one of his major esoteric works after The Book of the Law, declaring the dawning of a new spiritual age under Thelema.

A poetic and mystical text, but also as one of the earliest posthumous O.T.O. publications of Crowley’s writings, this edition is scarce and highly sought after by collectors of occult and Thelemic literature.

A must for any Crowley collectors.
