The title page reveals the blind embossed stamp for the "REVIEW COPY WITH JOHN LANES COMPLIMENTS" in an oval.
As well, the title page shows the author as V. Sackville-West (The Hon. Mrs. Harold Nicolson). This practice was to be omitted later on at VSW's wish. All edges uncut. Bound in blue-grey paper covered boards, 1/4 bound in brown cloth. White paper title labels to spine and upper cover, printed in black. Cross & Ravenscroft-Hulme A3
Some age wear, browning and minor chips at spine. Some waving to the pages as well as discolouration to the covers.
