Paul Nordoff (1909-1977). Signed tribute to Steinway American Composer. Here is the handwritten signed tribute to Steinway in full;
"When I was a young student, having to practice on an antiquated, illegitimate upright, the home of Steinway was a dream, the piano bearing that name an impossible goal. Yet the day came when an angel - disguised as a Steinway piano - arrived and set the entire family to weeping with the beauty of its tone. With a very grateful heart for the inspiration " Steinways' have given to my music, I write congratulations on this wonderful occasion. And with pride in the friendship I have cherished for many years, I send love to Ruth and Theodore, Devotedly , Paul Nordoff."
