H. O'Roark'. Dear Henry / I've been vacationing here in upstate New York and while enjoying all the unaccustomed inactivity, it crossed my mind that you have your new glasses by this time. I hope that the readers are better than your naked eye at least and that the distance glasses are clearing up those murky faces across the table. . . Everyone seems to be into some sort of faith healing up here - laying on of the hands . speaking in tongues, & assorted other mumbo jumbo. The story of Cabeza de Vaca enthralls some but takes the wind out of the sales of others. / People don't seem to like to have their orthodoxies threatened.
