Publisher's plain card covers, grey outer wrapper illustrated in red & black. The author's uncommon second book showing minimal use. Inscribed by Layton on the ffe.: "For my friend Sophie, [Sophie (Sigmund) Loussco] / Irving Layton / April 14, 1948". Contains both poems & stories. A very good or better bright copy, a spine split having been expertly repaired. Content clean & fresh & without names, marks, writing or blemish. There were only a handful of First State copies.
