This is Number "5" of two hundred and thirty copies printed on handmade Maillot-Kessler paper printed in Red and Black with the watermark of Cranach Press. Front and bottom edges uncut and designed by Count Harry Kessler. The text in German is by Rainer Maria Rilke with English translations, matched page per page with Vita Sackville West and Edward Sackville West. This first edition is signed by the translators on the limitation page. Vellum spine and tips over buff paper boards, lettered gilt housed in a grey paper slipcase. Twenty woodcut initials designed and cut by Eric Gill. The translator's name appears (in red) at the end of each translated Elegy.Cross & Ravenscroft-Hulme A25
