Rare, numbered, limited 1st True American Edition of the 10 book set entitled The Equinox Vol. I, published by Weiser in 1972. From the period of 1909-1913, Aleister Crowley was the main editor and contributor for this collection of periodicals intended for members of Crowley's recently founded magical order Argenteum Astrum (A:.A:.) This edition includes an introduction by Israel Regardie. The Equinox, also called The Review of Scientific Illuminism, has become the standard for English language esotericism, aptly termed the "Encyclopedia of Initiation" by its principal editor and contributor, Aleister Crowley, which also includes a number of articles of occult instruction,

This singular collection numbered 299 of 515, was created in regal white, small quartos with coat of arms on the front cover. The printed matter is generously interspersed with colour and black and white illustrations. These 10 books are in very good condition with some light water damage on the bottom of books 6-10.

Along with the notable articles on matters occult by Crowley et al these books also include fiction, art, poetry, and plays by such illustrious practitioners as Frank Harris, Victor B. Neuberg, W.B Yeats, and Leila Waddell amongst others. This compendium of works provides an invaluable insight into the breadth of Crowley's formative philosophical ideas and aesthetics.
