One of 645 numbered copies on Vélin de Lana with 24 colour illustrations in the text & an extra suite of black & white illustrations & a suite of colour illustrations bound in as are the original covers. While the book itself is not uncommon, this example is unique & includes one of the original copper printing plates neatly housed in the most elegant leather folder that protect the binding; the whole housed in a marvellous complementary blue marbled paper covered slipcase. The binding by Bayard of Lyon is exquisite; brilliant blue calf for all the elements; the extraordinary Bayard deco design is stamped in gilt in the best spirit & tradition of the best modern bindings of the period; luxurious silk endpapers.{Paul Bonet would be proud]. A very beautiful example in fine condition - the slipcase with minor rubs, content clean & blemish free.
