“Dear Geoffrey, Very many congratulations. You are much too modest about yourself and too flattering about me for which and however I thank you heartedly. I laughed all the way through and had hysterics over the last chapter.…Daphne is now reading it and is enjoying it am much as I did. It was very kind of you to send it to me. I hope you can read this. Tis not about my … pen other than the fact that I am still partially disabled and writing on a wobbly knee with an uncertain hand and the result of one of those ‘successful’ operations. However, since it saved my life, I can’t complain and don’t. Again, my warmest. Thanks and congratulations, yours truly, A.A.Milne”
A. A. Milne was well known for his iconic WINNIE-THE-POOH children’ series.
